Getting a Camera... Trust Me You're Gonna Need One
I know, how obvious can this be??... well I guess if you only edit photos, and you don't take them... then you won't need a camera. Such as if you take pictures off the internet (except the problem of copyright laws), so I still recommend getting your own camera. I suggest everybody check out our brief reviews in our camera section and try to find a camera that is best you, and what you are going to be using it for. We try to show the best cameras for the best prices, because we know newcomers are just getting their feet wet and don't want to spend that much money.
Photoshop, Photoshop and More Photoshop for Digital Photo editing
This is something you can't get around, if you want to do any picture editing you are going to need Adobe photoshop but if you're not that into photo editing you can use something like Adobe Elements. If you are just wanting to sell your digital pictures look below for a program that will help you get your digital photos out in the most professional way. Now buying Adobe Photoshop won't be cheap, but it is essential and will pay for itself in the long run. I also recommend buying an older version or looking on
eBay

, you wont get some of the new features the newest model Adobe Photoshop CS3 will give you, but overall it still is a great program no matter what version you get. You can find an older version for just above 100 dollars, and for CS3 you will be paying about 500 dollars. I can't stress enough for picture editors, you will use this program a lot to fix the lighting, contrast, colors, and other parameters of your freelance digital photos.
