Not every job opportunity will require you to be a skilled digital photographer. Some freelance jobs just require you to comply with certain specifications of what your photographing. In the case of this article were talking about what insurance and leasing companies want you to take pictures of.
About this Job

Thousands of people every day invest in property, insure their houses, and finance their vehicles (just to name a few). The companies and institutions involved in this line of work need constantly updated pictures of these properties. They need digital pictures and sometimes descriptions of the state and any other information that may be useful to them. These companies do not obviously personally hire thousands of digital photographers to do their bidding. Instead they hire temporary reps or freelancers in a given zip/postal code to relay the information they need. If they were to send their own reps or people the companies would be paying for traveling fees from places like New York and California, which would be absurdly expensive.
What does this mean for Freelance Digital Photographers?
You could probably guess that these companies need to hire people desperately, from every different zip code. The basis of this work is incredible simple and can be done by any person from any age. The companies will hire you to take on their temporary work and may contact you as much as is needed for new assignments. This type of freelance photography work is fairly basic and may not offer too much to a professional photographer, but to a beginner this is a great opportunity to make some money taking digital pictures. It can also be a way for a person with limited work capabilities, due to time or money, to make extra earnings. Meaning this is perfect for people: with full time jobs, stay at home moms, college students, and so on. Although, this job does require some responsibility it is in no regards as stressful.
Taking Pictures of...
So what will you be taking pictures of? You will be taking digital pictures of anything that is insured or leased: Houses, Boats, Vehicles, RVs, Property, Commercial Property, etc. It may not sound that exciting, and I do not recommend this job for everybody, but it is a good way to get started taking pictures. And this can always go on your resume that you worked for a big company taking pictures.
Job Requirements
The beauty of this job is the limited knowledge you need on digital photography making it an easy starting out job for an up and coming freelance digital photographer. Taking insurance pictures is very easy just as long as you can take a few in focus pictures. Really the only requirements are a digital camera and the internet.
And Finally: How to Get Started
Well contacting these companies can be the worst part but there is an
online manual right here, to get you started. It will help sign up with these companies and tell you everything you need to know, we strongly recommend it. Remember one thing about all these freelance jobs and business online, is that once they are found they can be saturated quite quickly, meaning that you can lose opportunities if you "slow move" your business. If this is the case, keep trying until your certain of a digital photography business or opportunity that really works for you.
